Halloween Ep. 01 - Halloween / When a Stranger Calls / He Knows You're Alone

John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN (1978) spawned a slasher movie trend that changed American horror forever. In addition to the Carpenter and Hill penned movie, we look at two films whose stories sprang from urban legends: WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (1979) starring Carol Kane and Charles Durning, and HE KNOWS YOU'RE ALONE (1980) which features young Tom Hanks, a cavernous morgue, and the worst detective in the tri-state area.

Join us as we get philosophical about the nature of good and evil (no, seriously) while we discuss two Jim Henson classics: THE DARK CRYSTAL (1982) and LABYRINTH (1986), starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.

We conclude the series with two films directed by F. Gary Gray, stoner comedy FRIDAY (1995) and bank heist drama SET IT OFF (1996) before finishing with the Wayans Brothers parody DON'T BE A MENACE TO SOUTH CENTRAL WHILE DRINKING YOUR JUICE IN THE HOOD (1996).
